Vein Mapping
Vein Mapping is a non-invasive vascular ultrasound examination that identifies the exact location, anatomical course, lumen diameter, and overall structural condition of veins in the upper or lower extremities. By evaluating superficial and deep venous networks, this study determines whether a patient’s veins are suitable for surgical procedures such as coronary or peripheral artery bypass grafts, hemodialysis arteriovenous (AV) fistula creation, or venous reconstruction.

The patient rests in a comfortable supine position. The limbs to be examined are exposed while keeping the patient warm to avoid cold-induced vasoconstriction.

Velocity Analysis
Color Doppler and Spectral Doppler wave patterns are documented to measure blood flow velocities and identify turbulence caused by vessel narrowing.
Duration
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, preferably shorts, and loose-fitting undergarments to allow easy access to the groin area during the examination.
